Lately the rumor has come about that VL is working on a new super-loader to compete with the Odyssey HALO. This weekend at Jungle Games in South Corona, California a new loader was sited by friends of 68Caliber.Com, and the player was asked what the new loader was. He claimed it was a new loader undergoing field trials in the real world to tweak the design and determine what, if any, changes need to be made before going into production.
Nate Greenman of Brass Eagle/VL was contacted with this information, and he responded with some information on the new loader:
200 ball capacity
2 9-volt batteries (lighter than an Evo 2)
Almost 2 inches shorter at the “nose”
Almost 2 inches narrower at the “nose” (In field tests the comments were “It looks like a cross between a Richocket and a Halo)
Automatic Anti-jam. The paddles turn backwards for a split second and kick out any jams.
Select Force ™ The amount of forward force being applied by the paddles on the stack of paintballs is adjustable. From Off (just like an evo 2….. …..low…medium…and high…this allows for brittle paint adjustments.
The player at Jungle Island hinted at a possible speed number of 27 balls per second, but Mr. Greenman related that the final production speed capability was as yet undetermined. Mr. Greenman felt confident that the new loader could go into production by the end of October, which would make the possibility of them being available to customers by as soon as the NPPL Commander's Cup in Miami, Florida in early November.
Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.
