It goes without saying that Oliver Lang (website) is one of the top pro paintball players in the game. As many of you will recall, Ollie Lang, Alex Fraige, Ryan Greenspan and Yosh Rau started playing together in 1997. In 1999 the group went on to form Ironkids and later in 2001 became known as San Diego Dynasty. Oliver went PRO with the Ironmen in 2000 and left the team in 2001 to join his friends on DYNASTY. After a very successful run, most notably in 2002 and 2003 when Dynasty won the Triple Crown Championship (NPPL, PSP and Millenium Series), Oliver announced it was time for change. In 2006, Ollie was signed by the Ironmen for $100,000.00, which set the record for the highest salary paid to a pro paintball player. Throughout the next 4 years Ollie worked to rebuild the Ironmen. After picking up several big names such as Nicky Cuba, Mike Paxson, Billy Wing and John Richardson, the Ironmen went on to win several events. Oliver’s highlights with the Ironmen took place in 2007 and 2008 when the team won back to back PSP Championship Crowns.
Fast forward to November 2010; Oliver’s contract with DYE has run its course and Ollie is now a free agent. With that in mind, rumors have circulated that he may be on the move. At the NPPL DC Open where Ollie guested with DC Arsenal, Ollie was rumored to have said “I can’t wait to play with my friends again”. Dependent upon how you look at it, this line could be taken to suggest he would like to be playing with his friends and teammates on the Ironmen. Alternatively, Olivers statement could be interpreted is looking forward to playing with Ryan, Alex, Yosh and the rest of his friends on San Diego Dynasty.
On the other side of the coin, rumors have suggested that the relationship between Dave Youngblood, Oliver Lang and Dye Precision has been very successful. Ollie has been flying around the world spreading the DYE brand and demonstrating professional paintball in exhibition matches and developing markets. For those of you unaware, Dave Youngblood, owner of DYE Precision, is both a former pro player as well as the owner of the Los Angeles Ironmen. From what we gather, Dave is very competitive and would like to see Oliver Lang continue his professional career with the Ironmen.
Devin Odell wurde im Dynasty Jersey gesichtet ...nicht schlecht Herr Specht.
