It goes without saying that Oliver Lang (website) is one of the top pro paintball players in the game. As many of you will recall, Ollie Lang, Alex Fraige, Ryan Greenspan and Yosh Rau started playing together in 1997. In 1999 the group went on to form Ironkids and later in 2001 became known as San Diego Dynasty. Oliver went PRO with the Ironmen in 2000 and left the team in 2001 to join his friends on DYNASTY. After a very successful run, most notably in 2002 and 2003 when Dynasty won the Triple Crown Championship (NPPL, PSP and Millenium Series), Oliver announced it was time for change. In 2006, Ollie was signed by the Ironmen for $100,000.00, which set the record for the highest salary paid to a pro paintball player. Throughout the next 4 years Ollie worked to rebuild the Ironmen. After picking up several big names such as Nicky Cuba, Mike Paxson, Billy Wing and John Richardson, the Ironmen went on to win several events. Oliver’s highlights with the Ironmen took place in 2007 and 2008 when the team won back to back PSP Championship Crowns.

Fast forward to November 2010; Oliver’s contract with DYE has run its course and Ollie is now a free agent. With that in mind, rumors have circulated that he may be on the move. At the NPPL DC Open where Ollie guested with DC Arsenal, Ollie was rumored to have said “I can’t wait to play with my friends again”. Dependent upon how you look at it, this line could be taken to suggest he would like to be playing with his friends and teammates on the Ironmen. Alternatively, Olivers statement could be interpreted is looking forward to playing with Ryan, Alex, Yosh and the rest of his friends on San Diego Dynasty.

On the other side of the coin, rumors have suggested that the relationship between Dave Youngblood, Oliver Lang and Dye Precision has been very successful. Ollie has been flying around the world spreading the DYE brand and demonstrating professional paintball in exhibition matches and developing markets. For those of you unaware, Dave Youngblood, owner of DYE Precision, is both a former pro player as well as the owner of the Los Angeles Ironmen. From what we gather, Dave is very competitive and would like to see Oliver Lang continue his professional career with the Ironmen.

Pro Paintball insiders tell us DYNASTY has picked up Dalton Vanderbyll from Entourage for the 2011 season. Dalton would put the team at 13 players; 10 on the World Cup Roster and the 2 that didnt play – Alex Fraige and Alex Goldman. Players across the world have been speculating that former DYNASTY player Oliver Lang will be returning to DYNASTY in 2011. Oliver’s contract recently expired and there is a potential for him to either A) resign with DYE & the Ironmen, B) sign with DYNASTY, or C) sign with another pro team. We anticipate the decision will come down to DYNASTY or the Ironmen. With a potential for 14 total players DYNASTY is sure to make several cuts by the first of the year. Pro Paintball Insiders tell us that the 2011 Dynasty roster will be locally based and a few of the out of state players will be released from their contracts. DYNASTY’s out of state players include Chad George, Billy Bernacchia, Archie Montemayor and Devin Odell. Former Dynasty player Mike Hinman has returned to coach the team in the 2011 season.

Sponsorship wise, DYNASTY has resigned with Guerrilla Air and has or is in the process of re-signing with EMPIRE Paintball and Planet Eclipse.

Will 2011 be the year of the Dragon?

OMG krasser Brüller !! Joy Division hat sich aufgelöst.

"We will end it now as most of the guys feel it's time. It have been the best time of our lives and soo glad and proud to have been part of paintball.

What Im most proud of is that the team have keept together from day one. Not 1 player in the 15 year history of the teamhave left Joy for another team.
And therefor it's just right that we end it together."

Following on the heels of Joy Divisions retirement announcement, team manager Magued Idris has released a statement providing more information and insight as to where the players will end up.

Thanks! For the kind words, its been a pleasure being part of paintball with you guys,

The team is really moved by the overwhelming kind response from all over the world. And it feels like we did something right reading all those praises

Sebban and Karl will play with the local Mash team at least a year or 2 more.

Max is not sure, but hes talking about doing little maxes with hes girlfriend (which you would understand if you meet her! )

Mellis is done and Storckenfeldt is done. Knut is moving back to Norway and might play some more but he have big plans with his naprapathy carrier.

And for me I retired last year but are still involved thru my Aball, so I will be at events sometimes with APS.

The team might do some promotion for the new Angel in 2011 and Im sure APS will do one last Joy Edition when the ARK arrive

Thank you!

The Naughty Dogs had a solid run during the 2010 season and finished the 2010 NPPL Pro Paintball season in 7th place. As many of you will recall, the Naughty Dogs shocked the paintball community with a multi-year agreement with DYE Precision in 2010 (they had been a Smart Parts Factory team).

Fast forward to 2011, and the future of the Dogs is in great jeopardy. Raymond and Rocky Knuth are said to be taking the 2011 season off; Raymond is going back to school and Rocky is opening a gym. With that being said, word on the street has it that Corey Field has parted ways with the team and is now a free agent. Corey was a major force both on and off the field for the Naughty Dogs in 2010 and his departure will be hard felt. Without Corey, Rocky, or Raymond, the future of the Dogs is questionable at best. Stay tuned..

Chris Lasoya Signs with Chicago Aftershock

Chris Lasoya has long been one of the most well-known and respected paintball players in the world, but had recently stepped out of the on-field limelight in favor of focusing on industry duties. It looks like Lasoya's ready to step out of retirement however, as PaintBall.com has learned that Chris has been offered a spot on the Chicago Aftershock Xball squad.

We got a chance to catch up with Lasoya last week during a special photoshoot for G4's "Attack of the Show", where the former founder of Miami Effect confirmed that he would be suiting up with Aftershock for 2011. Chris is expected to be a starting member of the team's Xball lineup, but nothing official has been announced.

Lasoya also let us know that he's completely set on returning to the 7-man *peeeep* as well, though he does not know which team he'll settle down with for the NPPL. Lasoya will also remain as a sponsored GI Sportz player, a company where he currently serves as the Director of Marketing. Which team do you think Chris should team-up with for the 7-man format? Post your comments below.

Tyler Harmon to Infamous for 2011

Tyler has posted a statement on his Facebook page that seemingly confirms his move to LA Infamous.
"Looking back on the whole experience I give all thanks and praise to the Lord. Crash at the Coast Miami was a monumental success and Iam so thankful to all of you who made the whole trip possible. I hope everyone is having a great new year and thanking all of their lucky stars for how fortunant we are to be alive at this time in history. T. HARMON & LOS ANGELES INFAMOUS IN 2011!! GOD bless the world!"

Zitat:
Tyler Harmon started his pro paintball career at the 2004 PSP Mardi Gras Open with Bob Long’s Assassins (now known as Oakland BLAST). Tyler, then 14 years of age, was the youngest pro player at the time. Fast forward to 2010, Tyler, now 21, has had a very successful career as a professional player. During the 2010 season, Tyler competed with top rofessional teams Edmonton Impact and Oakland BLAST.

According to comments published on facebook only hours ago, Tyler may be changing it up for 2011
