Update Following Malaga

Beitragvon Wüschi » 22.04.2010 16:53

Dear Team Owners,

Just to update you on the situation regarding the remaining games from Malaga and a series point solution for the teams affected by the Volcano;

We have been looking at several options in order to be as fair as possible to everybody. We have worked on several schedule ideas and are having many indepth discussions in order to achieve the best possible result.

By tomorrow afternoon we should be in a position to finalise and announce everything.

At the same time we are also analysing all the extraordinary events that affected last weekend in order to learn and improve our systems wherever possible.

Kind Regards

Dear CPL, SPL & Division 1 Team Owners,

After much consideration and consultation we have arrived at what we believe is the fairest solution for all teams in order to complete Malaga and continue the season with the least impact and disruption to all.

For all the teams that attended Malaga it is our intention to complete remaining games in Bitburg with some additional scheduling. In order to achieve this we will very much appreciate and require a degree of assistance from some teams.

We would need CPL teams available to play at 1pm on the Thursday. SPL & Division 1 games will start slightly earlier on the Friday morning.

For those teams that were unable to attend Malaga due to airport closures only, we offer two options which are entirely the choice of the affected teams.

1). Play remaining Malaga games: A team can take this option and would then be treated exactly as if they had been at Malaga, except they will forfeit games already played and be scored as a "No Show".

2). Forfeit all Malaga Games: In this instance you will be shown as a zero score for seeding purposes for the Bitburg event. However, you will be awarded series points based on a rolling average of the next 3 events. In other words if you score 100 points in Bitburg you will go into London with a Malaga score of 100 points, If you then score 80 points in London you will go into Paris showing a Malaga score of 90 points. Your final Malaga score being the average of Bitburg, London & Paris.

We are currently completing all additional Malaga scheduling and would hope to have this sent to you shortly.

In addition to this we intend to bring in an emergency SMS communications system to ensure that we can react more effectively to any major exterior factor that may effect our events. We would therefore ask that you let us have a phone number that will be your point of contact during future events, starting with Bitburg.

We have looked at all possible solutions to these issues and spent many hours debating the pros & cons of each one, we feel that the options we offer here represent the fairest way forward. We very much appreciate the efforts made by some teams to overcome many difficulties in order to attend Malaga and we also fully understand why some teams simply couldn't get there despite best efforts.

For those teams where an option applies, please could you inform Paula of your decision by Monday 26th April in order for us to complete final schedules.

If you require any further clarification please don't hesitate to contact us.

Kind Regards
